Singapore is a very strict country. Here are some of the things you should know about Singapore. Singaporeans almost always shake hands when they first meet someone. Always use the person's title or family name. People never call others by nicknames unless told to do so or have a strong relationship between them. Singaporeans show great respect to the elders. Singaporeans avoid eye contact to show respect especially to someone who has a higher status or senior. You should cover you r mouth when you yawn. In Singapore, it is considered rude to blow your nose or clear you throat in public. People get fined for littering or spitting.
