US vs China in highschool academics

I read the article here. It talked about how there are many over achieving students in the United States yet, not as focused as some of the top students in China. They made a comparrison saying U.S. students play video games and watch television while China students are studying for these college entrance exams on weekends way in advance. I think the U.S. stereotype is true to an extent; while many students do have leisure personal time, it doesn't mean they are not focused. One of the focuses of this presidential election is education. Some polititans believe education in the U.S. is declining compared to other countrys, such as China. If you think of things in the long run, teenagers now will eventually be leaders of the country in years to come. If schooling continues to decline, does this mean the country will decline too in the global scheme...only time will tell.
STAY IN SCHOOL!
