Chinese Yo-yos
For me, I have always been interest and amazed by the Chinese yo-yo. Whenever I see one of these yo-yos being flung into the sky, I am always tempted to go buy one and learn how to use one myself. Chinese yo-yos can be made of bamboo or plastic and can have grooves on the rims of the discs which creates a whistling sound whenever it spins in midair. As I scroll through sites offering tutorials on how to use one of these "diablos" (another name for the Chinese yo-yo), I find many unique and amazing tricks that I never thought would be able to be performed on one of these yo-yos. In China, the yo-yo is thousands of years old and is considered to be a popular sport with clubs in numerous high schools. Here in the United States, the yo-yos are steadily becoming popular as more Americans are being exposed to this fraction of Chinese culture. Right now, the Chinese yo-yo is used as a performance toy around the world and is sometimes used in ethnic dances. The Chinese yo-yo is one of the most intriguing toys that I have ever seen, so here are some videos for you to watch and be amazed at the skill of these yo-yoers. I hope you become as amazed I have from this simple-looking toy.
Some of the tricks are very deceiving.

Thanks Louie!
I have a set, did you end up buying one? If we have time, I can show you some tricks. I learned this when I was in Chinese camp *6th grade?*, then picked it up again when I was a Chinese camp counselor. The tricks might be simple, but it can be a start for you.
Actually, I don't have a set as of now but I do plan one buying one soon...maybe this could be an idea for a Chinese Club meeting?
