Chinese Automobile
I really wanted to know about How China was doing with cars. Last year, China overtook France to become the fourth largest automobile market in the world. Already the world’s fastest-growing market for cars, China will soon overtake Germany. Then it will be in the top 3 countries to manufacture the most cars in the world. With 1.3 billion people, logic would dictate that China, with the world’s largest population would also claim the most cars. Of course, the traditional emphasis has been on two, rather than four wheels. In 200, china’s cars were only 8 Chinese made cars on the market. But now maturity has come in a hurry. Now, there many new models, including many uniquely geared to the local market. Growth and production and sales of China's cars has rised in recent years. Output topped two million for the first time in 2001, then nearly doubled last year, when 4.3 million cars were produced.

Kevin,
Great job. Do you have citation for this entry? You have a lot of numbers and statistics, so I'd like to investigate a bit more.
Pretty soon (within the next 2-3 years), we'll be able to test drive Chinese cars (or even purchase them) in the US! Last year at the Auto Show, one of the sales person from Acura was telling me the Chinese auto companies are trying to enter the US market with a car for the price tag of under $10,000! Can you believe it?! That's really cheap!
